1st Annual Oktoberfest in Historic Uptown Yucaipa

The City of Yucaipa will host its 1st Annual Oktoberfest October 26‐27, 2012 in the historic uptown district. Thousands will gather to enjoy a music, spirits, and family contests that promise to leave all in anticipation of the next year. This event commemorates a traditional German fall celebration that features live brass bands, dancing, festival competitions, and kids’ activities. It is sure to draw thousands of people for a full weekend of fun and relaxation.

Friday’s (Oct 26) activities operate from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature the final farmer’s market of the year so be sure to pick up seasonal produce as it won’t return to the uptown until the spring. The evening will also include food and merchandise vendors, live music (Delaney James), a beer garden, classic car display, costume contest, and trick or treating.

Saturday’s (Oct 27) activities operate from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature an Oompa Band (German American Brass Band), log sawing contests, youth games, frankfurter eating contest, queen stein and stein hold`em contests, Schuhplattler Folk Dancers, pie eating contests, kids’ fun zone, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, petting zoo and pony rides, a beer garden, and Rebel Soul as the evening headliner with the best of country and classic rock’n’roll for your listening pleasure.

Event attendance and parking is free! Wristbands will be sold for the Kids’ Zone attractions. A beer and wine garden will be available Friday and Saturday for those over 21 years of age.
