The goal of this museum, which will open in 2003 is to foster understanding and build ties among people of differnet backgrounds and races. The museum will develop historic themes from the Underground Railroad and apply them to contemporary society.

Student Activity Visit the Scholar's Corner to begin exploring America's common past. Read a scholar's view of the Historical Context of the Underground Railroad and then see for yourself what types of resources historicans use to figure out what may have happened along this secret underground highway. Explore a case study of how escaped bondsmen were tracked.
