Underground Railroad Quilt
Oberlin, OH

Sidebar Navigation
We got the opportunity to view the Underground Railroad Quilt at the Oberlin Senior Center. The quilt, completed by a group of Oberlin women in 1983, was intended to commemorate the city's sesquicentennial, as well as its role in the Underground Railroad. The squares are based on symbols, people, events, and other items to do with the Underground Railroad. The group was so impressed that there was a run on the gift shop. Later, several pillows and at least one quilt appeared on the tour bus.
