Hardy & Cheryl Brown, Co-Publishers of Black Voice News. Cheryl described the Underground Railroad as a chapter in American history that was not being taught.
Theresa Henderson
Dr. Paulette Brown-Hinds
Theresa Henderson (former public school teacher in Cincinnati, wife of Wilberforce University President John Henderson) spoke about the history of Wilberforce, the first African American University in the United States, and was where Frederick Douglass taught.
Dr. Paulette Brown-Hinds, Assistant Professor, University of Cincinnati, organized the Symposium and coordinated the workshops and presenters.
Peg Hill
Dr. Margaret Hill, along with Cheryl Brown, was the driving force behind the "Footsteps to Freedom" experience this year. She gave a moving talk about how the knowledge and experience you gain as an educator influences your students' perceptions of the world, and can change the future.
