Studies from the National Education Association, Priority Schools Campaign articles, Baltimore City Schools studies, and former Congressman Floyd Flake, all indicate that something must be done to help close the achievement gap and help our children become competitive in this global society.

During a recent workshop with Rev. Flake, Good News Hope & Help, Inc. listened to his message and internalized what was said. “We realized that we needed to do more than keep information to ourselves. We need to do something by disseminating the information to others,” stated Mrs. Ira K. Gray, President, Good News Hope & Help, Inc.

“Good News Hope & Help, Inc. will do something by presenting a Parent workshop on Helping Your Child to Improve on Standardized Test Scores on January 21, 2011: 6-8 PM at the Good News Hope & Help, Inc. Center,” she stated. The presenters are retired educators who have spent their careers working with students for over 30 years, and presenters trained and certified by the Center for the Improvement of Child Caring and the Riverside County Department of Mental Health. They realize that there is a need to empower parents to help their children improve their performance on standardized test scores.

The Good News Hope & Help, Inc. Center is located at 178 Iowa Avenue, Riverside, CA. 92507 and the phone number is 951.231.9131. Please pre-register for the workshop at goodnewshopeandhelp@gmail.com by January 14, 2010. There is no cost for the workshop for parents however, there will be a $20.00 fee for materials.
