Eleanor Jean Grier Leadership Academy is Accepting Applications

The Eleanor Jean Grier Leadership Academy is holding its seventh leadership training class at 3933 Mission Inn Avenue, Suite B, Riverside, beginning August 26, 2010.

The Academy, which consists of a 12-week curriculum, has received grants from Paul Davis, Riverside City Councilman, Ward 4 and Bob Buster, County of Riverside Board of Supervisor, District I. The grants were awarded to the Riverside African American Historical Society, Inc. and The Group which committed to train, mentor and increase the participation of low income and the underrepresented in civic and public affairs. Residents of communities who are not actively involved in community affairs are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Leadership Academy has graduated sixty seven students in its first six classes. Recruitment for class seven is now is progress, final applications are due no later than June 30, 2010.
