Youth Art Exhibit

Imani Christian Cathedral is hosting “Developing 2 Destiny Youth Art Exhibit” a collaboration of young voices expressed through canvas, photography and poetry; creating a vibrant atmosphere that examines their present while formulating their future.

March is Youth Art Month. The entire community is invited to support this one day art fund-raiser featuring bold and exciting artwork from today’s young artists and influential visionaries.

The special guest is Maurice Slaughter. Slaughter has been doing art since the age of 6, and is currently working on a Bachelors degree in Animation.

Developing 2 Destiny Youth Art Exhibit will be held on March 4, 2012 at the Twenty Miles East Gallery located at 558-A West Second Street, Pomona, California. Art demonstration starts at 1:30 p.m.

The exhibit is from 2 – 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. Ticket cost will be applied toward your art purchase. Refreshments will be served.

IM INC, Free Music Lessons! Free Music Lessons

Inter-Prevention Meaningfully Intercepting The Negatives Toward Children, will start free music lessons for Rialto Unified School District youth only, starting March 3, 2012, from 8:00 – 12:00 P.M., applications will be accepted on March 3rd, at Werner Elementary School, 1050 West Rialto Avenue, Rialto, Hughbanks Elementary School, 2241 North Apple Avenue, Rialto and Kucera Middle School, 2140 Buena Vista Drive Rialto.

Free lessons will be on the electric guitar, electric bass, piano and drums from instructors with over twenty-five years experience on each instrument.

If you are interested for your child, who must be a Rialto school student grades 3rd through 12th, please register them in person on March 3rd, at any of the above school sites. No phone calls will be taken by IM INC.

Share Electric Bill Assistance Available For Eligible City Of Riverside Residents

(Sharing Households Assist Riverside Energy) is a program of Riverside Public Utilities to assist qualified low-income residential electric customers with their utility bills and deposits. The program is administered by Community Action Partnership of Riverside County (CAP Riverside), and it is supported by voluntary contributions by Riverside Public Utilities customers.

SHARE funds are available to Riverside households who meet the Federal poverty income guidelines. Annual household income ranges from $16,335 for one person up to $44,985 for six persons in the household. Qualified customers are eligible to receive assistance of $150.00, once a year, toward the electric portion of their utility bill. Assistance is provided to walk-ins from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at CAP Riverside, 2038 Iowa Avenue, Suite B-102, Riverside, CA 92507. The Utility Assistance office is located at the right rear of the Summit Business Center.

The following documents are required when applying for SHARE: valid photo I.D, Social Security card, birth certificate, current (within the last 4 weeks) proof of income for all household members or an award letter, and current (within the last 4 weeks) Riverside Public Utilities bill or an urgent notice.

Mount Moriah Baptist Church Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Mount Moriah Baptist Church will be celebrating their 50th Church Anniversary Sunday, March 11, 2012, 3:30 p.m., 18991 Mariposa Avenue, Riverside, CA 92508. Our theme this year is “Our Church: Making A Decree To Have The Lord With Us.”

Genesis 39:2-6, 21. We have done our best to make this event more special by making this a two-day event. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. will be our Gospel Explosion Concert featuring gospel groups, choirs, and soloist with songs to praise God and fill our hearts.
