Actor Hill Harper Kicks Off Black History Month with CAAM

The celebration of Black History Month at the California African American Museum (CAAM) will highlight the importance of education in black history and for future generations during Target Sundays at CAAM: Education, Living Our Legacy of Achievement! Sunday, February 5, 2012, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Setting the tone for a day of entertaining, artistic and educational experiences are co-hosts author/actor Hill Harper and actor Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter. Harper is an accomplished film, television and stage actor and the author of several books. He created the nonprofit foundation Manifest Your Destiny, whose mission is “to provide underserved youth a path to empowerment and educational excellence through academic programming, college access skills, and personal development.”

This event is free and open to the public. Located at 600 State Drive in Exposition Park, the museum is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sundays 11am-5pm. Admission and workshop participation is always free. Parking in the adjacent lot is $10.00 all day at Figueroa and 39th Streets.
