Riverside Sheriff Sniff’s Holiday Fundraiser
Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff will host a holiday fundraiser on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Riverside Marriott, 3400 Market St., Riverside beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
General admission is $100 per person and sponsorship packages are also available.
Bring an unwrapped toy or gift to donate to needy children during the holiday season that will be delivered by the Sheriff’s deputies through RSA.

Fundraising Fellowship Banquet
In honor of World AIDS Day, Kansas Avenue Resource Center, Inc. will host a Fundraising Fellowship Banquet at the Moreno Valley Coneference Center, 14075 Frederick Street, Moreno Valley on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The theme is “30 years later...Where are we now?” to benefit the Kansas Avenue Resource Center, HIV/AIDS Education Prevention Program.

Sacred Sistahs Fit-For-Fall 5-Kilometer Walk-A-Thon
Sacred Sistahs will host their Fourth Annual Sacred Sistahs, Inc. Fit-For-Fall 5-Kilometer Walk-AThon fundraiser taking place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Red Hill Community Park, 7484 Vineyard Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
All proceeds will benefit their outreach program for abused women and children.
Sacred Sistahs, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. All proceeds are tax deductable. $25 registration includes t-shirt.

35th annual celebration of writers and writing returns to UCR Feb. 7-10, 2012
UC Riverside will celebrate a host of prize-winning poets and novelists – among them distinguished UCR creative writing faculty and alumni – when the 35th annual Writers Week Conference begins on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. Participating writers will read selections from their works, answer audience questions and sign books after their presentations. Award-winning poet Diane Wakoski will close the four-day event as the keynote reader on Friday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
All events will be held on the UC Riverside campus in Interdisciplinary Building Room 1128 and will begin at 1 p.m. each day. All sessions are free and open to the public. Parking costs $6 per day.
