This week Bank of America announced they would resume foreclosures after taking a brief time to review their own paperwork and procedures. Help is on the horizon.
Banks, nonprofits and HUD will hold a public forum on home ownership and renters’ rights.
Free services include: confidential one-on-one legal advice and counseling on foreclosure, fair housing and predatory lending issues, including advice to tenants in buildings that have been foreclosed on.
Organized by New America Media, Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter, 62nd AD, The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 62nd Sustainable Communities, NID Housing Counseling Agency, Black Voice News, The Precinct Reporter, La Prensa, Westside Story, San Bernardino Branch of the NAACP, and Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire.
Attendees can share stories with journalists and media about surviving the foreclosure crisis and get answers to their questions from housing counselors, tax and legal experts.
