This week Hardy Brown College Prep (HBCP) began its second school year in operation with academic results that are drawing more local families to try the new public charter school named for Black Voice News publisher Hardy Brown. Over 300 students dressed in uniform green polo shirts filled the hallways for the first day of school at the Downtown San Bernardino campus, located in the Carousel Mall. Enrollment is up by 80 percent over last year. Student performance data after just one year, shows impressive gains.

Students Proficient & Advanced: The percentages (see table below) for each grade level and subject indicates HBCP students who demonstrated mastery of grade level standards by scoring Proficient or Advanced on the California Standards Tests. These numbers are even more impressive when compared with the percentage of students who entered HBCP last year at grade level in English Language Arts and Mathematics:

It is not too late for parents to sign-up children in grades kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth and seventh. For more information about HARDYBROWN COLLEGE PREP call 909-884-1410 OR visit the school online at www.hardybrowncollegeprep.org
