Three years after the bottom fell out of the financial markets, and more than one year after officials proclaimed the end of the deep recession, the foreclosure crisis continues with notices being plastered on the homes of our families, friends, and neighbors.
Victims of a man-made tsunami, families caught in the '1st wave' of foreclosures are gone. Moving vans take them and their belongings and the banks simply say, "you gotta live somewhere else."
The struggle continues for many still in their homes. They may be underwater but desperate to stay afloat, and maintain the goal of homeownership. That's where the NID Housing Counseling Agency stepped in to help these families keep their homes during a recent foreclosure prevention workshop.
