Family, friends, principals, and teachers recently came out to celebrate the life of 16-year-old Aziz Tajj Malik Harris who would have turned 17 this month.

Harris was born on March 11, 1994 in Downey, California to Azi Harris and Lovitta McLaughlin.

He received his education at Annalee Elementary, Dana Middle and was attending Banning High School. He has always been a bright, smart and well-mannered kid and since his preschool years he has been on the honor roll where he received numerous presidential awards and certificates.

Harris accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by friends Alfonzo, Kamill, Aaron and Brian. They would ride skateboards, play and make video games and make short films on YouTube, as well as make beats.

On February 19, 2011, Harris was called home to be with the Lord. His grandfather Eugene Harris, Aunt Angela Mitchell and cousin Ameer Sims preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved parents: Aziz Harris of Sayre, OK and Lovitta McLaughlin of Carson, CA; six sisters: Jubree and Alexis of Carson, Azia and Asia of Long Beach, Armani and Imani of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Naziz of Long Beach and Jabriel of Atlanta, GA; grandmothers: Betty Mitchell of Carson and Karimah Harris of Perris; grandpa Kenneth Robinson of Perris; great grandmother Essie Cantey of Manning, SC and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
