GoED Assistant Deputy Director Louis Stewart joined leadership from California's largest hospital operator Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), Dr. Steve Larson, Chairman and CEO of Riverside Medical Clinic (RMC), Steve Barron, CEO of St. Bernardine Medical Center (SBMC) and Don Ecker, founder of March HealthCare Development to applaud both CHW and RMC on bringing more quality care to the Western Riverside region on the March LifeCare Campus.

The area has been plagued with a shortage of beds and few options for quality care with reportedly half the area's residents leaving the area for care.

Stewart announced that the March LifeCare campus will be featured on the department's website as a "California Business Success Story" beginning this week.

Stewart also lauded the recent announcement that MHD, CHW, RMC, and SBMC have entered into an exclusive relationship for the purpose of defining a new integrated health care delivery system on the March LifeCare Campus.

Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), headquartered in San Francisco, CA, is a system of 40 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona, and Nevada.March HealthCare Development is developing a 200 acre health and wellness city on former March Airforce Base surplus land.

The project is a six million square foot campus that will provide services for individuals and families from birth to hospice.

In it's first phase the project is expected to generate 5,000 construction jobs and over 12,000 permanent jobs.
