On Monday, April 21st at 7:00 pm, the Riverside Chapter of the NAACP will be hosting a Political Forum entitled “Giving The Government Of The People; By The People, And For The People, Back To The People”.

One of the most important and empowering resources a citizen has is the power of the vote. However, many African-Americans are not wielding this power – and - not holding their elected officials accountable.

The invited speakers are representatives from the offices of:

U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer;

Congressman Ken Calvert;

Governor Gray Davis;

State Senator Jim Brulte;

Assemblyman John Benoit;

Riverside County Supervisor John Tavaglione;

and Riverside City Councilman Ameal Moore.

The public is invited to attend and become acquainted with their local county, state, and federal elected officials and their functions in order to demystify the political process.

The Political Forum will be held on Monday, April 21st from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Bordwell Park/Stratton Center, 2008 Martin Luther King Blvd., Riverside, CA.
