Macys West raises more than $3.2 million through their More Community campaign.
Some said they would use the Macys donation on equipment, others on research, some to continue programs.

For the second year, Macys West successfully completed their More Community campaign raising a record $3,234,119 for four non-profit agencies. As a result of the More Community campaign, each agency will receive more than $800,000 to help continue providing community services and programs in all of Macys store markets.
Macys Wests mission is to give back to the communities in which it serves. We are pleased to implement this campaign to fundraiser for the four participating non-profit agencies. During this hard economic climate, donations to non-profits are down and these contributions come at an especially needy time, said Robert L. Mettler, Macys West chairman and CEO.

Beginning January 27 and continuing through March 6, check presentations to the local agencies will be held in six locations, including Hawaii, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
During this time, Macys Cardholders contributed a minimum of $25 to the More Community campaign through their Macys credit card and one hundred percent of the proceeds raised go directly back to the communities where the donations were made.
Last year, over 42,000 Macys West customers and employees participated in the campaign and raised over $1.1 million for the American Red Cross. This year, nearly 130,000 Macys West customers and employees participated in the campaign to nearly triple the amount raised.
As a thank you to its customers, Macys will send customers a Macys Reward Gift Card valued at ten percent of all their Macys credit card net purchases (in-store and at macys.com) made from the day the customer contributed to the campaign through January 11, 2003. Macys Reward Gift Cards will be mailed to the customer beginning this month.
