Rose Parker has not only made history, but she continues to make history (with her-story). She is a phenomenal woman and one of the most sought after speakers today.
Her testimony of unwavering faith and workshops dealing with domestic violence and victim awareness are like no other, she will make you laugh, cry and you will most importantly walk away with new found strength and a wealth of information.
When Governor Gray Davis' press release stated that he was releasing Parker on December 8, 2000, he also said that there was no question that she was abused, her life was in danger, and that the law was not in place until 1992 that could have protected her.
Although Rose had already spent 15 years incarcerated before she was actually released, she never once shown bitterness for this injustice. She has triumph from her tragedy and will announce the official launching of Saving Our Women International, Inc. during this celebration.
This organization will respond to crisis situations, offer housing, violence intervention, prevention and education, seminars, workshops and more, to bring awareness to men, women and teens. Rose is truly a success story.
