Ted Jackson has been named chief of California State Parks’ Southern Field Division. He is currently the district superintendent for the San Joaquin District.

Bill Berry, deputy director for California State Parks operations, said in announcing the appointment, “I am confident that Ted will bring a balanced perspective to the operation and management of this complex region of California. I look forward to having Ted as a valued member of our executive team.”
Jackson, a seventeen year state parks employee, began his career as a state park ranger in the department’s Channel Coast District, and has also worked at other southern California state parks and Folsom Lake State Recreation, near Sacramento. Jackson briefly interrupted his state parks career to work as a manager with the State Department of Consumer Affairs.
As chief of the southern field division, Jackson will direct one of the largest divisions in the state park system. The division is comprised of six districts, including the department’s Angeles District, which is focusing on developing urban parks in the Los Angeles area.
