Services to be Held for PK Blakely

Longtime San Bernardino resident Benton “P.K.” Blakely passed away yesterday morning in Texas.


Blakely, retired as a major after serving 23 years in the service. He fought in both WWII and the Korean War. “Blacks were a major part of the war, the coverage in the news does not tell to the fullest extent what we did,” he once said.
Blakely was a corpsman in the Army Corps of Engineers. He helped to build roads, bridges, and dams.
Funeral arrangements are being made by St. Paul African Methodist Church. For more information, contact the church office at (909) 887-1718.
