On Saturday, October 5, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 14th Street and Howard.

Upon their arrival, they located two Black male adult shooting victims Wilfred Campbell and Chet Johnson seated in a Toyota Camry. The driver had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The passenger sustained a grazing wound to one leg and a through and through gunshot wound to the other. The victims told officers that they were stopped at a red signal when a silver Mitsubishi pickup stopped next to them. Without provocation, the two Hispanic male occupants from the truck opened fire on them. The truck then fled in an unknown direction.
The victims, Campbell and Johnson, both of Moreno Valley, were admitted to Riverside Community Hospital in stable condition.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Riverside Police Department Investigations Bureau at (909) 320-8000.
