In an effort to improve student achievement in math and English language arts in California, Pacific Metrics is pleased to announce the release of the California edition of Practice to Achieve™ (P2A).

Practice to Achieve is an online product that combines the latest technologies with sound assessment principles to provide a learning system aligned to the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE).

Practice to Achieve is the only online system available to provide increased student learning, diagnostic information for teachers, and better CAHSEE results. The content of the system is aligned to the CAHSEE test blueprints and California mathematics and English language arts standards.

These materials were developed by professional writers with CAHSEE item-writing experience. The content for the student is presented in an engaging format that motivates and encourages continued learning. As students proceed through the system they receive
immediate, personalized feedback based on their responses to each question.

Following the completion of a unit, students are able to access an online adventure segment that provides geographical and historical excursions throughout the state of California.

The system is designed for ease of implementation at the school level. With the recent investments schools have made in technology, the implementation of this system is effortless and requires only an Internet connection. Students also have the option of extending the school day by accessing the system from home.

“We designed Practice to Achieve to improve the performance in math and English language arts by all students. As a consequence, their performance on the California High School Exit Exam should also improve,” said Howard C. Mitzel, Ph.D., President of Pacific Metrics.

Mr. Ben Casados, former California Education Technology Council member is assisting Pacific Metrics in the implementation of Practice to Achieve in the California high schools.
