Chief Leach Promotes Two RPO’s

Chief Leach announced the promotion of Detective Skip Showalter to the rank of Sergeant and Officer Mark Rossi to the rank of Detective.


Sgt. Showalter began his law enforcement career as a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department in 1988. He transferred to the Riverside Police Department in 1989.

As a Police Officer, he worked as a Field Training Officer and as an Investigator with the Auto Theft Unit. In 1995, Showalter was promoted to the rank of Detective and worked in Patrol, Internal Affairs, Auto Theft, Gangs and Economic Crimes.

Detective Rossi began his law enforcement career as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1991. He transferred to the Riverside Police Department in 1994. As a Police Officer, he worked as a Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer and is a member of the Special Weapons And Tactics team (S.W.A.T.).
