Persons interested in running for office in the November 4, 2008 Presidential General Election may take out candidate filing papers beginning July 14, 2008. Papers must be filed by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2008. If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline for that office is extended to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 for everyone except the incumbent.
