Local citizen Alycia Enciso steals a few minutes with Congresswoman Maxine Waters recently at the Telacu Education Foundation's Scholarship Dinner held in Century City where Waters was a special guest. Waters was there to support the diverse group of over 100 students who were receiving part of the $2.4 million in scholarships that were awarded to high school grads, returning undergraduates and graduate students. Telacu holds the distinction of having a 100 % graduation rate of their recipients. "They do more than give them money, they support them through the time they are in collage," said Enciso.
