Boys Booked on Barbershops (BBOB) /Girls Booked on Beauty shops (GBOB)  is a national, community-based, literacy program that provides children opportunities to read in familiar neighborhood sites.  Reading nooks are set up with literacy tips for parents and a variety of high interest multicultural children's books for children. The reading nook gives children an alternative to the pop culture magazines often sited at shops. Boys Booked on Barbershops' headquarters are in Memphis, TN. The organization has partnered with several community groups across the nation, including Mocha Moms, Inc to assist with  the expansion of the program.
The Inland Valley Chapter of Mocha Moms will be launching the BBOB program on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 10 am at Luv'd Ones Barber and Beauty shop in Fontana. The first 25 children in attendance will receive a McDonald's Arch card and Just For Me Hair Products. Barbers will be on hand to accept walk ins. And of course plenty of books will be available to the children.
