Former Riverside business owner for over 63 years and Riverside resident Willie F. Bartee recently celebrated his 90th birthday. The celebration was held at the home of his son, Mike Bartee.

Among those in attendance were Mayor Ronald Loveridge who presented Bartee with a certificate on behalf of the city of Riverside, Woodie Rucker-Hughes, president of the Riverside NAACP who recognized Bartee with a South African scarf, Susan Strickland, Dorella Anderson, and Jeanette Ward presented him with an honorary lifetime membership in the Riverside African American Historical Society.
Bartee, who celebrated his retirement after 61 years in business at Bartee's Beauty Salon in Riverside this past July, also received a certificate of recognition from State Assemblyman John Benoit for being the recent recipient of the NAACP Freedom Fund Entrepreneurial Award. Bartee says he is 90 years blessed.
