Bloomington High School Unity Day 2007 A Huge Success

BLOOMINGTON

In honor of African American History Month, February, 2007, in a special way of unifying the student body, and celebrating the legacy of African American culture, Bloomington High School (Bloomington, CA; Principal, Ignacio Cabrera), and the BSU, celebrated by hosting "Unity Day 2007" on Friday, February 23, 2007.  The theme for this special day was "BE THE ONE - BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, SUCCEED!"

BSU Step 2 It Praise Dancers

This celebration/assembly attended by over 700 students, teachers, and staff, featured celebrity guest speakers: Ricky Harris, comedian and actor, (Everybody Hates Chris), Rev. Dennis M. Brown, Oratorical and motivational speaker featuring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., speeches, musical pop and hip hop group, S1, and many many others.  This entire day focused on promoting cultural unity through positive festivities; motivational and inspirational words, songs, and dance!  Delicious barbecue was provided by Lil' Woody's  Barbecue of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
