Resort Casino, Special Events and Convention Center Opens New Destination in Palm Springs Area


It wasn’t the Fourth of July, but the fireworks flew high during the kick-off and grand opening ceremonies at the desert’s newest hot spot, Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino.

Along with a 12-story, 250-room hotel, there are two new restaurants, a lounge, coffee-and-pastry bar, shops, a poolside bar highlighted by a picturesque view of the Palm Springs area surrounded by mountains.

Hotel room rates start at $99 per night as an opening special through March 2005, and can be booked o­nline at fantasyspringsresort.com or by calling (800) 827-2946.

An additional 15,000 square feet has been added to the casino, which had been redesigned and redecorated to feature 2,000 slot machines, table games and more.

The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians have also included an adjoining Special Events Center which can accomodate conventions and serve as the area’s largest concert and sporting venue with up to 4,500 seats.

The Special Events Center can handle multiple functions at the same time.  For large events, concession stands will be located o­n both sides of the main concert hall and a large kitchen facility is capable of serving up to 2,000 guests.
Tickets are o­n sale for the following 2005 concerts at the new Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center:

Steve Miller Band (“Fly Like An Eagle,” “Abracadabra” and “The Joker”), 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 shows. Tickets are all reserved and priced at $25, $35, $45 & $55;

Bonnie Raitt (“Nick Of Time,” “Something To Talk About”), 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27. Tickets are reserved and priced at   $29, $39, $49 & $59;

Huey Lewis & The News (“The Heart Of Rock & Roll” and “The Power Of Love”), 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10. Tickets are all reserved and priced at $29, $39, $49 & $59.

The new Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is a four-star destination with a 12-story, 250-room hotel, four restaurants and the 12th floor Sunset View lounge with nightly entertainment and the best views of the Palm Springs area. Fantasy Springs is located at 84-245 Indio Springs Pkwy., 22 miles east of Palm Springs and north of Interstate 10 at the Golf Center Parkway exit near Indio.
