By James Shanklin --

As Adams Motorsports Park is just around the bend from its 50th Anniversary, the park’s Thursday night tradition is coming up to its one year anniversary on December 17th. Drift Night has become one of the park’s most popular nights, as racers from all over come to race and entertain the crowd with their stylish, go kart skills.

Twice a month, fans will be able to come to the track for the freestyle night, where two cars go up against each other to race and do a number of stunts.

“It’s like Fast and the Furious on steroids,” said Troy Adams, CEO of Adams Motorsports Park.

On Dec. 10th and Dec. 17th, keeping in the holiday spirit, Drift Night will have a bit of a twist as they help the community by giving back to it.

Guests can get in free with an unwrapped gift with receipt, and drivers can do the same and only pay $10.00 per session.

The gifts will be donated to Trinity Youth Services, a foster care center in Colton, CA.

For Adams, the park is not only a place that people go to in order to eat and race, but the most important thing is to take kids off the street and give them a place to go at night.

“It’s very important for us as a society to look for places for our kids where they can go out and be safe. For over 50 years, our family has been in business and that is one of the things we pride ourselves in doing,” Adams said, “With drifting and drag racing they’re at a place where they’re safe and they’re not tearing up other people’s properties and you don’t have to worry about someone getting hurt or killed.”

The nights at Adams Motorsports Park do not have to be spent in a go kart and sweating to stay in first place, during the evening’s events, spectators can enjoy the races from the sidelines, with a food menu packed with everything from sub sandwiches, ribs, and burritos. The music and environment from the park has set up a good place for college students, teenagers, and just any race fan to come and hang out.

“[Drift Night] is truly an event where if someone is not really into cars and they just want to come out and have a good time and hang out with people, they can do that,” said Adams.

Adams Motorsports Park will be having their 50th anniversary on January 28th 2010, and will be holding a number of special events that day. Until then, every Thursday night is Drift Night from 6:30 to 9pm, and everyone and anyone is invited. To reserve a group package for groups over 10 participants call (951) 686-3826. Groups cans be from 10 – 300 participants.
