What do you get when you combine the 2004 NCAA Baseball Champions from Cal State Fullerton, and a fury of four-legged friends?  The 3rd Annual Animal Trax 5K/10K of course!  The run/walk will be held November 19, 2005 on the campus of California State University, Fullerton.

Hosted by the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter at Cal State Fullerton, the run/walk event will benefit New Beginnings for Animals, a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs from shelters. Their goal is to save dogs and cats from euthanasia and place them in new, loving homes that will be beneficial for both the saved pet and its new owner. A portion of proceeds will also go toward the care of pets abandoned as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

The day will begin with the 10K race at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. An awards ceremony will end the day, with medals given to the top finishers in each category.  Throughout the morning, participants will enjoy music, food, information booths, pet contests and free prizes. There will also be a kidzone with games, animals, face painting, a bounce house, crafts and balloons. Animal-owner games and contests will give everyone a chance to showcase their favorite pet’s agility, wit and intelligence. Activities include a dog talent show, best pet-owner look-alike contest and best-dressed dog contest.

As an added treat, players from the 2004 National Championship team will be on hand to sign autographs for fans.  Most of these talented Titans have gone on to play for teams such as the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and AAA teams around the country.  Scheduled to appear are: Felipe Garcia, Ricky Romero, Ryan Schreppel, and Brandon Tripp.
