A team from Banning, Calif., will join recreational league tennis teams from across the country as they compete for a national title at the USA League Tennis 3.0 Senior National Championships in Palm Springs, Calif., from October 15 - 17.
Held at the Riviera Resort & Racquet Club and the Moore Tennis Academy, the tournament will determine the No. 1 mens and womens teams in the country at the 3.0 senior level.
Representing the USTAs Southern California Section are: Michael Curtin, Phillip Cho, Moddie Gonzalez, William Hendra, Carl Miller, Richard Norton. and Christopher Thomas all from Banning.
USA League Tennis presented by Lincoln is the worlds largest recreational tennis league with more than 530,000 participants throughout the country. Players participate on teams in a league format, which is administered by the United States Tennis Association through its 17 sectional associations. The league groups players by ability using six National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) levels, from 2.5 (beginner) to 5.0 (advanced). Players progress through a series of championships at the area and sectional levels culminating with the national championships. USA League Tennis is open to any USTA member age 19 and older. The league provides players with the opportunity to improve their skills, have fun, meet other players, travel throughout the country and compete in a USTA national championship.
