Los Angeles - What a difference a year makes. One year ago Damon Morton was a senior standout receiver at J.W North High School. He and his twin brother had terrorized IVY league defenses for three years, and won a lot of football games.

One year ago, Damon and his twin brother were on their way to an undefeated 14-0 season and another division V championship. It would be their second title in three appearances.

The Morton brothers combined to help J.W. North achieve one of the most successful runs in school history.

That was last year, today Morton is running for his life trying escape the wrath of college footballs’ Division 1-A nation champions. Morton now attends Colorado State University and plays football for the Rams.

CSU traveled to the Coliseum for their first ever meeting with USC...They may not come back! USC was extremely inhospitable, beating the Rams 49-0 making Colorado 0-2 for the season.

“We just were not focused enough for this (playing a team like SC), we made too many mistakes and that killed us,” said Morton.

Morton’s current role includes kick-off returns and back-up wide receiver. “It’s a lot harder up here, you have to work twice as hard and everyone here is twice as good.” Morton’s twin brother will join him in January and play next season.
