Oscar de la Hoya, “The Golden Boy” defends his title belt once again and looks forward to the Sugar Shane Mosely rematch on September 13, 2003.

Although Yory Boy was listed as a big underdog, De la Hoya still isn’t trying to sell Campas as a serious threat. After the fight went on to the 7th round Campas refused to come out for the 8th.
Throwing in the towel has become a pattern for Campas as he and his corner have done in previous fights.

De la Hoya dominated his opponent as he connected with 264 punches while Campas only connected with 75 out of 348. De la Hoya also landed 119 jabs and 145 power punches, making Campas simply a tune-up match.
