The WNBA’s two most consistent teams tossed it up again Monday evening in a season finale well worth the wait. The Sparks, having already wrapped up the division title and sporting a three game lead could have easily mailed this one in.

Raider alumni gather at local baseball field for charity softball contest

The Inland Division of the California Highway Patrol joined NFL Raider alumni in a friendly, yet competitive, softball game for a local charity. The beneficiary of the event was the CHP’s “11-99 Foundation.” The coded jargon refers to a CHP officer who is in need of assistance. Since 1981, funds have been raised to support families of those officers who have died in the line of duty.

– Let there be no mistake about it, they came to see the King. Labron (King) James that is. The crowd, approximately 16,000 sat quietly as the teams warmed up.

There was a slight buzz as Labron threw one off the backboard and slammed it home, but even with that dunk it seemed as though the crowd was a little reluctant to believe that the kid could be as good as they had been told.
