He's o­nly been retired for a few months and, former USC Trojan quarterback Rodney Peete says he misses the game but he's found other things to do. He spent 16 years in the NFL playing for six different franchises including Detroit, Dallas, Carolina, Philadelphia, Oakland Raiders, and Washington Redskins. He landed in the Super Bowl with the Carolina Panthers in 2004.

The parities of last week-ends college games were really eerie. The USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins both had unbeaten streaks o­n the line, both were o­n the road, both won in the final offensive play of the game.

The Los Angeles Clippers will begin a campaign with high hopes as they look to improve o­n their 37-45 record of last season. Of course Elton Brand will lead the way. The 6’8” bruising forward from Duke will be in his seventh season. Brand averaged 20 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in last year’s campaign.

San Diego -With a franchise record crowd of 68,537 o­n hand the Chargers struggled all night to stay within striking distance of the visiting AFC rival Steelers.  Finally, with 4:45 remaining in the game LaDainian Tomlinson vaulted up the middle for a 2-yard touchdown and a 22-21 Charger lead, o­nly their second of the game.
