When the NFL concludes its season in February the AFL (Arena Football League) will be able to give the football junkies their fix each week. The league is headed by David Baker, the commissioner among commissioners. Baker, who recently spoke at the Pasadena Quarterbacks Club luncheon, is a man big in stature at 6’9” 410 pounds and is a figure that gets noticed when he walks into a room. He is a sound business man with a great sense of humor.

The Colton Yellowjackets came to Redlands as the number o­ne team in the CIF.  By the numbers, the epic contest was seen by 8,000 fans, 81 points were scored, as Redlands East Valley outlasted Colton by o­ne point, in the last second of play, 41-40.

It has been two years since the world lost o­ne of its greatest female athletes. It’s been two years since the sun has set o­n the life of a woman that touched so many and paved the way for many more. Althea Gibson would have been 78 this past September 28th. Gibson was a trailblazing athlete who became the first woman of color to win championships at grand slam events such as Wimbledon, the French Open and the U.S. Open.

CORE-CA Teams With IFD To Assist Inner City Youth Nutritionally

CORE-CA has teamed with the International Fitness Diplomats (IFD) in order to bring about healthier youth among minorities. “The program is to help our young people,” said CORE-CA Chairman Adrian Dove. “Minorities are susceptible to a lot of diseases if their nutrition is not proper.”
