Riding a 17 game winning streak, Citrus Belt League Basketball Champions Redlands East Valley Wildcats (REV) found themselves in uncharted territory. They would be paired against the number o­ne seed Los Alamitos Griffins (26-4) in the CIF semi-final for the right to play at the Anaheim Pond for the championship.

Fantasia sang the national anthem, Matt Kenseth won the 500, and owner Jack Roush won all three events of the weekend. Without a Gordon, an Earnhardt or a Stewart in the winner's circle, maybe we should start looking at how good these NASCAR team owners are.

Westwood - The UCLA Lady Bruins (15-10,10-6)  entered Saturday's game with a o­ne game lead over their cross town rivals the Trojans of USC.  USC (17-9, 11-6) was down to eight healthy players.
