Gray Invited to Speak in the Bahamas

Bishop Trevor Williamson and Co-Pastor Lady Sharon Williamson invited Overseer Levonzo Gray to speak at their 12th Pastoral Anniversary at Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas. The theme this year was “Focus on the Call and Worthy of the Honor.” Overseer Gray spoke Friday and Sunday with sermons entitled “Servants Worthy of Double Honor” and “The Power of the Church.”

There has been an exchange fellowship with the two churches for several years.

Bishop and Lady Williamson and congregation look forward to their trip to preach a revival at Good News Community Baptist Church in Riverside in the summer of 2011.

They have promised to bring between 30-40 members so that Riverside will know they are here.

Overseer Gray has focused on several goals for the congregation at Good News Community Baptist Church in Riverside.

One of the goals is to carry out the great commission given to us by Jesus Christ to spread the Gospel to all nations. The second is to develop an active vocational and educational program for youth and young adults through Good News Hope & Help, Inc. Finally, teaching the congregation to tithe and save the goal has been to establish a community credit union and an investment program in 2010.

The third goal is being realized as a partnership with Prosperity Credit Union in which ten churches have joined.

To assisst those who have busy schedules and still want to attend worship service, an early morning 9 AM one hour worship service has been established. This service is specifially for a come as you are audience who has mostly been comprised of busy young people.

The ministerial staff for this service has been the Pastor and several coaches from the area. Speakers include Coach Jeanine Horton- Duncan of North High School, Coach Damien Smith of Riverside Community College, Coach Julia Gray-Smith of UC Irvine, and Minister in Training Regina Gray of Palmdale. We look forward to hearing from Arlington High teacher Elder Johnny Hillary, Elder Levonzo Gray, II, and Exhorter Sunny “Debra” Jefferson. The traditional service is at 11:30 AM.

Good News Hope & Help, Inc. is a 501 9C) (3) organization that has the philosophy that “all students can achieve (regardless of family income, ethnicity, or geographical locations) when they are provided with the proper learning environment.” The goal is to demonstrate how students can become successful if the adults in their lives encourage independence, theach them appropriate learning strategies, and reward them for their progress, no matter how small the progress may be.

Free STAR Diagnostic educational assessments will be given to students on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 10 AM to 12 noon just before the Harvest Festival located at 178 Iowa Avenue in Riverside, 92507. This organization is also sponsoring a Scholarship Benefit Concert from 6-9 PM featuring Lil Gavin of Las Vegas at the Ceasar Chavez Community Center in Bobby Bonds Park, 2060 University Avenue.
