New Joy Baptist Church’s Annual Harvest Festival Planned

The community is invited to New Joy Baptist Church to attend its annual Harvest Festival on Thursday, October 31, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and no later than 8:30 p.m.
The Harvest Festival will provide a safe, Christian environment for your children and youth on Halloween. There will be games and activities for all ages. Some of the games and activities will include inflatable jumper, slide and climber, lawn bowling, hula hoop, basketball shoot, treasure hunt, face painting, contests, talent show and Christian music.
Concessions will include free food such as hot dogs, brownies, popcorn, and cotton candy. Everything will be free and games will include prizes. There will be balloons and lots of candy will be given out to the kids. So bring your children and youth out for a fun time.

Hallelujah Carnival at Life Changing Ministries

Come and join Life Changing Ministries Hallelujah Carnival for a safe alternative to Halloween. The event will have face painting, a huge bouncer, and game booths for all ages to enjoy including a dance video arcade game, and a giant slide. A cool prize booth will reward participants for just having fun. Concession stands will be on hand to supply dinner as well as snow cones and popcorn. Candy will also be there for the carnival trick or treaters.
The tickets are 25 cents each and the event is on Thursday, October 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Life Changing Ministries Church. The church is located at 5395 North “F” Street or call (909) 882-3277 for more information.

World Community Day

With the theme, “Daughters of Abraham: Called to Peace” the Christian women of Church Women United invite their Jewish and Muslim sisters to share their faith, pray for peace and freedom for God’s children. The celebration service will be held on Friday, November 1, at 9:30 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 2991 Ninth Street, Riverside.
Church Women United (CWU) is an ecumenical grassroots movement of Christian women in the United States and Puerto Rico, focusing on prayer, Bible study, advocacy and action.

54th Annual Banquet

The 54th Annual Banquet of the Southern CA Conference Lay Organization of the African Methodist Episcopal Church will be Friday, November 8, 2002 at 7 p.m. at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 9750 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles.
The Rev. Jamal Bryant, the dynamic pastor of the Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church of Baltimore, M.D. is the speaker.
