By Cheryl Brown –

Claudell and Odell Curry recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas. The Currys married at his San Bernardino home in the backyard.

They have known each other since they were in elementary school but were not childhood sweethearts.

When they graduated, she moved from their hometown of Sandy to Dallas and he found a life and future in San Bernardino.

He worked for the Barstow Logistic’s Base and for two years they wrote each other back and forth while she was making up her mind to relocate to California.

When she finally said yes and made her way, they rekindled their relationship and were married.

They are proud members of St. Paul AME Church.
