Public Enemy's Chuck D Comes to CSUSB April 3

Chuck D, the force behind the controversial Rap Group Public Enemy, will be featured at the upcoming CRACKDOWN YOUTH SUMMIT hosted by The Cal State University Student organization EBONI. The group previously appeared in San Bernardino in 1990 during a Crackdown on Drugs event, then housed in the Boys and Girls Club of San Bernardino. The 1990 event filled the Orange Show Grounds, Damus Auditorium.

The upcoming appearance is being hosted by The Cal State student organization EBONI (Elimination of Bias, Oppression, Negativity and Ignorance), on Saturday April 3rd at 3pm. This event is The Crackdown Youth Summit.

The event will include contemporary entertainment and deal with the affects Hip Hop has had on today’s generation of youth.

The focus of this years summit will include, four major issues facing youth today. 1. Drug Abuse 2. Violence 3. Abstinence 4. Higher Education. The organizer has opened the event to the public and encourages families to attend.

Other celebrities scheduled to appear include Anti Drug and Violence Advocate Milton Creagh who also spoke to several San Bernardino High Schools last month. Also participating will be actor Isaiah Washington formerly of TV series Grey’s Anatomy.

The program will include Skit performances by The Crackdown Anti Drug and Violence Theatrical Production Project. The program will also include Hip Hop and R&B performers from throughout the Country.

The event is free to the public and will accept donations.
