An exciting roster of accomplished performers will grace the Wilshire Ebell Theatre’s stage this year for the 13th annual Divas…Simply Singing! fundraising concert benefiting Project Angel Food and The Black AIDS Institute.

Launched by actress-singer-producer Sheryl Lee Ralph (star of Moesha and The District), this year’s production will feature performances by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, Trenyce of “American Idol,” jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon, actress-singer Loretta Devine (Boston Public), disco diva Linda Clifford, Moe Daniels (The Lion King), E.G. Daily (Rugrats Go Wild), Victoria Rowell (The Young & The Restless), and Jenifer Lewis (Strong Medicine, Antwone Fisher).

This magical evening of song, remembrance, music and entertainment will also include performances by Jean Louisa Kelly (Yes, Dear), Joanna, Niki J. Crawford and Misha Henson.

Divas…Simply Singing! takes place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 25 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, 4401 West 8th Street in Los Angeles. Tickets are available at TicketMaster or by visiting www.divassimplysinging.com.

One of the first Los Angeles-based performance fundraisers to benefit AIDS charities, Divas…Simply Singing! calls on the creative talents of professionals both in front of and behind the stage who donate their services for free. Divas…Simply Singing! also generates consistent support from corporate and independent sponsors including Fubu, Mac, Roche, American Airlines and designer Tadashi, among others.

"Yes, Divas…Simply Singing! is a magical evening of performance, but the message remains that AIDS is still killing friends and family and leaving behind children with no one to love them,” said Ralph, who each year co-writes and performs in the show. “The business of making sure that silent voices are heard remains a ceaseless challenge."

Divas…Simply Singing! is directed by the renowned Howard Fine; produced by Paul Papile; musical direction by Diane Louie; choreographed by Tony Michaels; and written by Eddie Kercado and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
