Dorian Gregory Takes the Controls as New Soul Train Host

Versatile and talented actor Dorian Gregory has been installed as the new, regular host of the Soul Train Weekly Series, replacing Shemar Moore, who helmed the show, with, considerable, ratings success, for five seasons, ending as of Soul Train's Fall 2003 season, it was announced recently by Executive Producer Don Cornelius.

The hunkish and very charming Gregory received his first major break as one of the stars of "Baywatch Nights, "in the role of Diamont Teague from 1995 through 1997.

Since 1998, Dorian Gregory has been cast as the recurring character, Detective Darryl Morris, on the WB Network primetime drama series, "Charmed." Gregory also co-starred, of late as the Lucius Johnson character in the 2003 (Focus/Universal Studios) film release "Deliver Us From Eva" and recently, performed on an episode of the UPN Network primetime sitcom, "Girlfriends" which airs on October 20, 2003.

According to Cornelius, "Dorian Gregory has been on our wish list of possible regular Soul Train Weekly Series Host's since he appeared on Soul Train as a celebrity guest host, for a single episode, back in 1996.

Dorian brought his own personal and very refreshing style to the Paramount Pictures soundstage videotaping of the first four Soul Train episodes, which feature Gregory as our regular host and the entire Soul Train team, at every level, was totally thrilled by his, genuinely outgoing personality and overall, professionalism.”

The first Soul Train Weekly Series episode with Dorian Gregory at the helm kicks off Soul Train's Fall 2003 season and will air in first-run, national syndication on Saturday, October 11.

Tribune Entertainment Company will distribute for the twenty-first consecutive season.

This fall, the Soul Train Weekly Series, overall, enters it's thirty-third consecutive season on the air and remains the longest running program, regardless of genre, in the, entire, history of first-run, national syndication.
