The Downtown Supper Club is fast becoming the place to be in the city of Riverside. Last week an array of people said it just feels good.
An Anglo couple sitting at the bar, said enthusiastically, this feels like Riverside, the Riverside that is diverse. Do you see all these people actually enjoying themselves and each other?
"We will be back," said Robert Nava and his wife Cathy. "The music, the hospitality, the people and the diversity makes me feel welcome," he said. This is a microcosm of our community and I like it."
One patron said he was happy because people dressed properly. "They dont have caps turned backwards and oversized clothes on. They dont act like they are looking for a fight. No one has a chip on their shoulder. Everyone seems to be here because they want to. And I too like the diversity," he said.
Listen to the music, smooth jazz, not loud. It is for the 40 something crowd. I like it because I can bring my parents here and we can have dinner while listening to music," said a young man with his friend.
Ella Brown did just that. She celebrated her birthday and brought her younger children who enjoyed the vocals of Derek Bordeaux and the saxophone of Paul Russo.
