July 1st-3rd, thousands of African Americans from all over the country came together in New Orleans, Louisiana to celebrate the 11th year of the Essence Music Festival. It was a three-day sensational event that gave empowering and spirit enriching seminars by inspirational speakers, professors, authors and in the evening people were entertained by a number of old school, R&B and Hip Hop artist.
