Stars and celebrities from both the entertainment and sports world came out to pay tribute to Althea Gibson. The Pro/Celebrity Tennis/Golf Invitational and Gala was created by the Lincoln Family Life Center in South Los Angeles. “The Lincoln Family Life Center is hospitable, educates, gives love, and nurtures young people,” said Vanessa Howard, co-event planner. “Althea being the great that she was, we just wanted to give back to her and her family and felt it fitting to have children involved in it.”
