SAN BERNARDINO
Always smiling, always upbeat and in the face of her struggle with cancer, she remained positive until succumbing this past Monday morning.
Born in San Bernardino on November 8, 1949, she was the first child of two born to the proud parents of George and Fannie Ealy. Page-Featherstone and her younger brother Larry grew up on the Westside of San Bernardino and attended first Mt. Vernon Elementary and then Roosevelt Elementary School. She then attended Arrowview Junior High and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1967.
Alice Faye Page-Featherstone Page-Featherstone received Christ at an early age and was associated with many of the churches in the Inland Empire. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, Macedonia Baptist Church and she was recently baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Faith Temple Apostolic Church. She loved to sing and used her God given voice at the local churches as well as community functions.
Being a single parent of one child and wanting to provide the best for her son and herself, Page-Featherstone started her own business. That business started in 1981 in Downtown San Bernardino on Court and "D" Street, just around the corner from her first job, National Dollar Store when she was 12-years-old. Page-Featherstone named it "Alice's Boutique." With a strong work ethic and working long hours, she was determined to make it the success it was.
When it came time to move business locations, Page-Featherstone chose to stay in town by moving Alice's Boutique first to North "E" Street and finally to the Carousel Mall where the name was changed to Alice's Antiques.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband David Featherstone, her son, Nathaniel Harris, II, one brother, Larry Ealy (Debra) and a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones. Final Tribute Mortuary will handle her services. The service will be Monday, April 2nd at New Hope Baptist Church, 1575 W. 17th St., San Bernardino. Viewing will be Monday from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
