RIVERSIDE
Kappa Alpha Psi RiversideAlumni Chapter in conjunction with the African Student Programs recently presented the 2nd Annual Guide Right Program featuring the A-MAN, Inc. Conference.
Officer Jim Cannon looks on as his son reviews materials. The A-MAN achievers program includes a very important nurturing component. This
nurturing component involves an innovative design. The design implements intervention
strategies that enhance the achievement of students during the nurturing period. Students enter the program at 5 years of age and are matched with a role model. The role model joins the parent in providing support to the student. The achiever, role model and parent become an important trio, "PAR," and form a very necessary bond.
Math teacher Michael Mayne (r) with "PAR" represents Parents, Achievers and Role Models. The achievers range in age from 5-18. Since the
achievers are intergenerational, they become role models for each other.
