Fontana - Mayor Acquanetta Warren and the City Council are pleased to announce the City of Fontana was awarded the BIA Baldy View Chapter-Good Government Award.

The BIA Baldy View Chapter presents the Good Government Awards each year to recognize exemplary building industry public policy efforts. The City of Fontana will be recognized at the December 6th Holiday Charity Gala for the adoption of the innovative “Green Fontana” fee rebate program.

The “Green Fontana” volunteer pilot program incentivizes builders to construct even more environmentally-efficient ENERGY STAR homes in Fontana which creates jobs and generates economic growth. Likewise, compared with standard homes, ENERGY STAR qualified homes use substantially less energy for heating, cooling, and water heating-delivering resulting in annual cost savings for homeowners. “We believe this is a model volunteer incentive program to emulate that serves as a win-win-win solution for the residents of Fontana, the local economy, and the environment,” stated Carlos Rodriguez, CEO BIA Baldy View Chapter.

“I am thrilled for the City of Fontana to be recognized with this award. My colleagues and I have been working with staff to provide a policy that will not only create jobs and generate economic growth, but create incentive for the builders with reduced fees to develop energy efficient homes that will serve our environmentally conscience community for years to come,” Mayor Warren said.
