SAN BERNARDINO - The San Bernardino Community College District’s Economic Development & Corporate Training (EDCT) division will host a Career & Resource Fair on June 14 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Applied Technology Training Center (ATTC) located at 114 S. Del Rosa Drive in San Bernardino. The free event is open to both the public and alumni of the EDCT’s Nanotechnology Training Program. Space is limited; interested employers or agencies who would like to participate in this event can register by contacting the EDCT at (909) 382-4001. “Employers are hiring again,” said Dr. Jamail D. Carter, Assistant Director of Applied Technologies Training. “There is still more progress to be made, but it’s good to see our local employers adding jobs.” More than 30 employers participated in the March EDCT Career and Resource Fair. “We are hoping to surpass these results with our June event,” added Carter. “We have an assorted mix of employers who are partnering with us for our June Fair. These employers are recruiting for a variety of positions.” “During the economic downturn many local residents took part in a number of our short-term professional development trainings,” noted Carter. “These individuals now have many of the skills and competencies sought for by employers.” “We continue to develop our training programs in partnership with regional business leaders,” noted Dr. Matthew Isaac, Executive Director of EDCT. “We know what they are looking for in an employee. That’s part of the reason we’re able to get them to work with us in putting on events.”
